Asshat Of The Week---Boston Mom Calls 911 Over Kid Playing Video Games
January 3rd 2010 13:46
BOSTON (AP) — Police say a frustrated Boston woman called 911 to say she couldn't get her 14-year-old son to stop playing video games and go to sleep.
Police spokesman Officer Joe Zanoli said Monday the mother called for help around 2:30 a.m. Saturday to say that the teenager also walked around the house and turned on all the lights.
Two officers who responded to the house persuaded the child to obey his mother.
Zanoli says the mother's 911 call over video game obsession "was a little unusual, but by no means is it surprising — especially in today's day and age when these kids play video games and computer games."
Are we joking here? Imagine being the cops who had to go on this friggin house call? I thought if I called 911 for something stupid like this, I'd be on par with the dummies who decide to call when their french fries are cold or that they got the wrong value meal at Mickie D's and I'd be told to screw & don't call 911 again for such stupidity? They actually sent cops over to her house for this? In Boston??
Look, all I can say to you is this, Mommy... Something went wrong a long time ago in your 'mother/child' relationship as far as discipline is concerned. Your kid obviously doesn't know who 'rules the roost' over at your house and you've failed to lay down the law enough as this young pain in the ass was growing up, so he thinks he's in charge now. He wouldn't turn off his video games? You called the cops? How bout this.... Rip the cord out of the wall that connects Little Johnny's XBox to your electricity and take his system out of his room, then go to bed. Leave the BPD out of it. If Johhny decides to get brave and in any way lifts his hand to you and hurts you, call 911, but like I said, if that happens over you taking his XBox away, something has been wrong for years here. Welcome to the club of Asshat fame, Mom. You are truly a deserving member!
