A French father has escaped a prison sentence after he forced his son to eat a bad school report.
The man, who was not named, jammed the three-page report into his 12-year-old son’s mouth, causing the boy to choke, the Daily Mail reports.
The father then pushed the summary further down his son’s throat with his finger when the boy failed to swallow it. He then hit him on the head and in the face, a court in Poitiers was told.
Social services were alerted to the situation by a teacher who spotted the boy’s swollen eye and cut lip the next day.
The father was charged with assault. He received a two-month suspended sentence and apologized to his son.
“I do not hit him anymore,” he told the court.
I have to admit, I’m a little torn on this one.
The idea of making the kid eat his shitty report strikes me as a very innovative one, yet in need of a little tweaking, shall we say.
“You see that pathetic looking piece of science report carnage you just handed me, son? I want you to eat that effin thing, right now. Eat it, I said! Here’s a half glass of water to wash it down. Now get to work!” And the next time you need help with your science homework or any homework in general, you know where your mother’s room is, do you not? Take it to her, dummy!”
You see, you would’ve saved yourself a little face and an asshat award, if you gave him a half glass of water to wash it down with and refrained from hitting him. Don’t hit him, Dad. Focus on the main task at hand….. the eating of the report. But you couldn’t do that. You couldn't focus. You had to make him choke while eating it dry and smacking him around. FAIL.
