NEW YORK, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Pet store operators and humane society workers in New York both say giving pets as a gift on Valentine's Day is not always the right call.
"One gentleman last year got a very nice little puppy and the girl freaked out. They were not that close to each other," Rubin said. "He was trying to get, how do I say this, an extra score, and she was not into the whole thing."
"Hey honey, ( I feel I can call you that after 2 dates, is that ok?) look what I bought you for Valentines Day, my sweet little cupcake!"
"Arggghhh.. WTF is that fury little bastard? You stupidsonbitch, is this why you've taken me to Burger King for our first two dates? Because you've been saving for this fury little rat of a dog? I've known you for two weeks and you barely have anything to say, nor have you asked me any questions about what I do and don't like in life, yet you think you're gonna score points with me if you buy me that thing? If you wanted to get in my pants and thought this was the most effective way of doing so, you're wrong. All you had to do was step it up a little and at least take my sweet little ass to Wendy's. I hate BK....and I hate EFFIN dogs! HATE! Now get out and take that dumb ass little doggie with you. This isn't working out.
