Asshat Of The Week...Jacobs Road Elementary Principal

(From WTVR.com in Virginia)

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY - A Chesterfield County substitute-teacher is facing several charges after a group of students reported her to the principal's office Friday.

The principal at Jacobs Road Elementary School told parents about the incident in a letter she sent home to parents. It says less than 30 minutes after school started the students reported that the teacher was in possession of alcohol on school property.

Police tell CBS 6 that 50-year old Sabrina Pado was substitute-teaching for third grade students and when they arrived they found beer inside her water bottle.

Pado has been charged with being drunk in public and having alcohol on school property, both misdemeanors.

Can someone explain to me what exactly the problem is here?

I once had a Latin teacher who was piss ass drunk every goddamn day of the school year. Shit, I used to catch a quick buzz on the fumes when he walked by me as I cheated on my tests. He taught Latin for Christ sakes. The booze helped him get through the day. Have you ever taught Latin to a room full of piss ant, know it all, 9th graders? Then don't throw stones. It's not exactly on the edge of your seat excitement, standing there conjugating verbs in Latin. However, add a little gin & juice to the equation and all of a sudden you're an Ancient Roman warrior swinging a mean pretend sword as you run around the classroom spewing Latin venom.

Now, this women was a substitute teacher thrown into a third grade classroom. Life could be better. Who does this principal think he is for turning her in to authorities? How hard is it to teach a little Hooked on Phonics to a room full of 8 year olds as you're half in the wrapper?

Four words for Mr. Elitist Goody Two Shoes Principal: Live and let live.

Um, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. What would happen if that lady started beating up kids in the class. That kind of stuff happens when people are drunk. Luckily nothing happened, but she deserved justice.

I don't care if she is a substitute teacher or the permanent teacher assigned to that classroom...you do not come to your JOB drunk...and you do not teach children in a drunken state of mind!!! Stay home and drink by yourself if you can't face life while in a sober state of mind. Teaching high school may be a challenge for some these days, but third grade? Shame on you for thinking this situation is not a problem!! I find it hard to believe that you would think it to be okay for your daughter to be taught by anyone who is always drunk in the classroom on a daily basis. I think you should probably re-think your opinion on this one Daddy TCFB...

most likely the kids who would've gotten smacked around a little with a ruler, deserved it. The alcohol would just give her the courage to do what had to be done..

Like the Sheryl Crow song "I like a good beer buzz early in the mornin"..

Cheers Madgus!
