No, Maris's 61 home runs still stand. If that was the case, we probably would have put it in the headline. What does change is Mickey Mantle's run total.
He's always been credited with 132 runs that year, but a researcher possibly in the process of looking over every box score ever, in the hopes of finding something like this found a run that wasn't. In a game on September 10th, Mantle was credited with two runs scored, when he really only scored one.
No way!
For real?!?
Is it really true that Maris was the sole winner of the runs scored title in ‘61 and for all these years we’ve been lied to as the books say he was tied with Mickey?

Who is the tool that went through box score after box score after box score to eventually prove the history books wrong on this one? I want to meet this fella. He must be a busy fucking guy, let me tell you. I mean, he must have a lot on his plate. Let me sit here and count how many runs The Mick & Rog scored back in 1961.
