Chris CrockettBruins & Flyers Winter Classic Was 'Event' To Remember

My whole life, I've never been an 'event' type of person. I am a die-hard sports fan who has loved sports since I was a little kid. I don't go to a Patriots game or a Red Sox game because it's 'cool' to go. I can't stand people who started going to Patriots games or Red Sox games after they won world titles. Ask my friends, they'll tell you. People sitting in bars like 'Game On' pretending they know baseball as they sippie sippie on their Appletini's, or favorite microbrew, asking why the crowd boos every time 'Youuuk' comes up to bat, aren't my cup of tea.
I've never deceived anyone when it comes to the Boston Bruins and my support of the team. I've always said, they are my fourth favorite team of the four major in Boston. Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins is the order of my allegiance. That being said, I follow the Bruins and know quite a bit about the current team, its history, and the sport itself. Hockey just isn't my favorite sport, that's all.

On New Years Day, I have to admit, I went to a so called 'event', and I'm thrilled that I did. Yup, that's right, I said it, I went to an 'event' and I'm thrilled. It is something I'll never forget. It was a crowd of 'who's who'. I like to call them, 'event' people. The Winter Classic had plenty of those 'event' people, but down in right field, there was some 'Flyers suck/Bruins suck' banter going on and a good enough amount of people with some screws loose up in their domes. Just how we like it. We might not partake in that stuff but we do love to laugh and enjoy that type of atmosphere. It's good clean fun. My father, uncle, two best friends, along with myself, had a blast. Yeah, we had to eat a few slices of $4.60 per slice overpriced pizza and drink some of that overpriced beer, but it was amazing. It seemed almost surreal to see hockey being played in the middle of Fenway Park. We are all big sports fans and this was something nobody had ever seen around these parts---hockey at Fenway. Bobby Orr and Bobby Clarke coming out to a thunderous ovation as they got ready for the ceremonial face-off. Personally, I was thrilled to share it with people who I'm very close to in my life and I'm pretty sure they felt the same. I learned something too. Even at so called 'events' where there are lots of those 'event' people I mentioned, it's all about who you're with and what you make out of it. It was a time I'll never forget.

Espo to retire.........Happy to say I was at them also...........But nothing beats when we won te Allston North Little League Championship.....Now That was an event to remember....lol
