F1 - Crazy Canada Crash!

June 15th 2008 15:54
The Canadian Grand Prix normally produces a fair share of incident, indeed the 2007 race produced a cartwheelng car which left spectattors fearing for the health of driver Robert Kubica.
In fact he survived, and although this year's race produced the usual shunts, it was the pit lane that gave us a real crazy incident.

The safety car was in operation,. and as such the pit lane exit had a red light to make cars wait.
World Champion Kimi Raikkonen was patiently waiting, but Lewis Hamilton had not seen the red light, and duly drove up the back of Raikkonen taking both drivers our of the race!

A clear mistake by Hamilton, but in true Schumacher style he firstly seemed unwilling to put the blame at his own door, and secondly had managed to take out his main rival!

There was nothing untoward, as Hamilton was looking good to win the race, and the incident was certainly not in his best interest.

What a crazy crash in Canada though!
