Does Snooker Make You Snore?
April 26th 2008 22:39
Snooker is a funny old game.
Unlike pool, it's played on a much bigger table, and the game can be much slower with tactical exchanges.
The game surged in poularity in the UK in the 70s and 80s with great marketing and TV deals, meaning TV audiences of millions.
The 2008 World Championships are currently taking place in Sheffied, England, as they have done since 1977, and they last 17 days, one of the longest world championships in sport!
The game has fans entranced in silence as they watch the combination of tactical knowledge and technical ability - non snooker fans just look on with bemusement!

For the Sake of Argument
My Apologetics
Pool is all about skill.
But snooker requires tactics more than raw skill.
It is more like chess.
I am sorry that I do not get much time to play it these days.
