Will You Be Making Money From Frilly Knickers At Wimbledon 2008?
June 25th 2008 21:52
We know the summer is here when Wimbledon starts, and the potential for profit is certainly there...
When I first started watching Wimbledon way back when, everyone played with wooden rackets and the ladies played a gentle game.
They wore short dresses, with decidedly frilly knickers peeping out underneath.
Nowadays it tends to be huffing, puffing and lots of grunting, with lycra shorts underneath.
Some of the women still wear traditional sports clothes, while the top players often seem to be competing in the fashion stakes as much as the tennis!
So how do you turn this into profit?
Well, you could be an affiliate for sports wear, be it sensible or fashionable!
Tennis is played all over the world, and the market for sports clothes is huge!
You could maybe set up a site for sporting memorabilia.
Tennis is not the biggest sport for merchandise by a long way, but it's there nonetheless.
Another method, and this is the one I like the best, is to simply voice opinion about tennis.
One thing sports fans *always* want is a view, because they have one themselves!
The huge number of sports journalists is there for a reason, the demand is there.
The internet allows anyone to publish as many views as they want, with very little censorship, no editors over your shoulder or deadline to meet.
It can be done in your own time, and you use the fact that tennis fans read your views, to generate the traffic which you can then send to a site you monetise, or if it's a blog you can make money from the site there and then!
So to sum up, the frilly knickers may have gone, but the potential for profits at Wimbledon 2008 certainly have not!
