Blaine ‘Let Em In’ Lacher!
How many Bruins fans had wood in their pants when this kid came on the scene in 1994?
Lacher led Lake Superior State to a national championship in 1994 and made an immediate splash in Boston. He was 19-11-2 with a 2.41 goals against avg along with a .902 save %, in 1994-95 for the Bruins. After that, ‘Let Em In’ Lacher arrived and he was outta here after one more season in Beantown.
I like to refer to the case of Blaine Lacher’s downfall as ‘The Curse of Charlie Hanf’. Yup, that’s my ole man. We were at a Red Sox game in the late summer of 1995 and the ole man saw Lacher in the beer line and decided to go tell him how great he thought he was and wish him luck in the upcoming season. Good work, Hanf. That pep talk really did wonders for the man’s career.
So what’s been going on Blaine? Shoot me an e-mail at the site. Smitty and I would love to take you for a brewski.
