Hey Beantown Chowdaheads...Remember Me??

Mosi was like a cult hero on those marginally successful New England teams of the ‘80’s. He and his teammates ‘Squished the Fish’ but sure as hell didn’t ‘Bury the Bears!’ Everyone loved chanting ‘Mosi…Mosi…Mosi’ after a great play on special teams or when he ran the football. He made the Pro Bowl in 1986 for his superb special teams efforts. Mosi really made a name for himself on special teams, but his best overall statistical season as a running back probably was 1983. Tatupu ran for 578 yards on only 103 attempts and led the NFL in yards per attempt that year at 5.5. He scored 4 rushing TD’s to go along with 1 receiving TD in ’83. Here are some quick hitting facts on Mosi…..
*** 8th Round pick of Patriots out of USC in 1978
*** His son Lofa Tatupu plays middle linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks.
*** Tatupu is currently 54 years old and the last I’ve heard from my TCFB ‘moles’ was that he was the running backs coach at D-3 Curry College in Milton, MA.
