High School Track Coach Says...Get That Bracelet Off Honey...I Win!

(From SI.com)
S. Pasadena's Robin Laird thought she won meet April 29 with final pole vault but opposing coach pointed out she had string friendship bracelet against rules.
Laird was disqualified on technicality, giving Monrovia the victory and league title.
Here's what opposing coach, Mike Knowles had to say about pointing out her infraction and the situation in general. What a guy!
**"This is my 30th year coaching track," Knowles said a few days later. "I know a lot of rules and regulations."
**"It's unfortunate, that's all I can say," Knowles said. "It's unfortunate for the young lady. But you've got to teach the kids that rules are rules."
**"I didn't notice the bracelet until after she cleared the height and walked by," he insisted. "[I had] a sinking feeling for her. I didn't want to have to do it. But it's a real rule -- it's in the book -- not something I made up. About 10 years ago, I had a girl who wore an earring in the 4x400 relay and it ended up costing us a CIF title. I feel bad for what happened, but I guarantee you she'll never wear jewelry during a track meet again."
First off, let me say that I am a stickler for rules and regulations as well, Coach 'Know it all' Knowles. However, I also possess something that you apparently do not.....TACT!
Coach, what is it that you are trying to accomplish by pulling this pathetic dick move of all dick moves? Oh yeah, securing a league track title fraudulently by blowing the whistle on a girl wearing a tiny bracelet... I forgot.
Here is what I find to be the real reason for pulling this stunt... I think you're packing a small, broken, overall subpar wee-wee in your pants and attempting to uplift the ailing ego by calling out this kid for wearing a string bracelet. A goddamn string bracelet? Rulebook or no rulebook, that's pure bush league.
You know what, the girl beat your team's ass. Take your beating. Walk up to the girl afterward & congratulate her. Hell, smack her on the ass if you like to get down L.T. style, for all I care. After that, let her know privately that it is a rule infraction, albeit a minor one, but you didn't want to take anything away from her kick ass peformance by pointing it out to officials.
Coach, you're a tool. "I got burned once at a track meet and now I got even! Na-na-na-na-na-naaaaaaaaaaaa! !"
