Jana Rawlinson Removes Breast Implants To Be The Best Hurdler She Can Be

January 8th 2010 14:01
From the Daily Telegraph

Jana Rawlinson

IN THE second about-turn in as many weeks, unpredictable Olympic hurdler Jana Rawlinson has had her highly-publicised and much-wanted breast implants taken out.
Less than a fortnight after announcing plans to remarry her estranged husband and manager Chris Rawlinson, the drama queen athlete has admitted she spent $13,000 in the past 14 months getting the augmentation, only to have the cosmetic procedure reversed. "Yep, I'm back to being flat as a pancake," Rawlinson tells Woman's Day magazine, out today.

In a surprisingly candid interview, the 27-year-old runner said she had the implants taken out as she felt they were affecting her performance on the track.
"I can always get my breasts enhanced again when I finish my career. I know there are no medals for being beautiful."

I’m really not sure where to begin. Most male swimmers shave their bodies completely before competitions to decrease resistance and increase their speed/time correct? I mean, I remember talking to somebody one time who was friends with a kid who was a college swimmer and competed at a very high level. He told me that his buddy would ‘shave it all.’ I followed that up with a strange quizzical look and got the answer I was hoping that I would not get. Yes, Johnny waxed himself…..down there. No hair! Hair = resistance! I then asked if we could change the subject.

My point on all this is as follows: If swimmers do this to themselves, what did Jana think adding two brand spankin’ new floatation devices to her chest would do to her time on the track as she jumps hurdles for Team Australia? So I did a little research…..

To determine the exact weight of your own implants, you need to know the cubic centimeter volume (cc) of the fluid within your implant: One ounce = 30cc. (Thus, if an implant has a volume of 480cc, it will weigh approximately 1 pound).

My implants are 660 ccs, so they weigh about 3lbs total

Yup, having 3 pounds of fresh tata added to your person when you’re a hurdler seems a little counterproductive eh?

That aside, this chick sure knows the value of a dollar. Go out and spend $13K on implants, get the surgery reversed, then to please her future husband who was once her husband previously, she might have the funbags thrown back in when her hurdling career is over. Not to mention, future yet ex- hubby Chris is her manager. This is what I call a selfless act and looking out for your life partner’s career… ‘Honey, I enjoy your new chest sooooo much, I really really do, but I am your manager, and I think it would be the right call for you to have them removed so you can go back to dominating on the track. We can always revisit things at a later date.’ What a guy!
