Jason Bay Doesn’t Understand The Negativity Surrounding Mets…Let Me Help Him

( From Sporting News )
New Mets OF Jason Bay told the New York Post that he is confused by all of the negativity that surrounds the team. “I obviously knew their performance record-wise last year wasn’t what people wanted, and I also understood there was a lot of injuries,” Bay said. “But I couldn’t really understand where all the animosity was coming from given the fact you look at the team ... that’s a pretty good team.”
Good ole, ‘J-Bay’. God, I hated that nickname, but let’s get on with this…
You don’t understand the animosity, Jason? Let me try to clarify for you.
Say you had a friend growing up that got all of the girls and you couldn’t understand why this was happening. You were a nice guy, bought nice clothes to wear, and drove a nice car. However, you are constantly referred to as his ‘wingman’ and you watch him walk away in victory with girl after girl after girl on his arm.. It gets so bad that your father is even ashamed of you.
‘Rico Suave Friend’ = Yankees
‘You’ = Mets
‘Your father’ = Mets fans
Let me elaborate…
In New York, the Mets are the Yankees bitches, year in and year out. The Mets spend a lot of money on high-end, expensive free agents just like the Yanks. They look pretty on paper yet they always are the ‘wingmen’. Mets fans don’t give a rat’s ass about having a ‘nice’ year or ‘gee this guy was hurt or that guy was hurt, we forgive you.’ They want to win, goddamn it. They are rabid East Coast baseball fans who play 'wingman' every year. What don’t you understand Jason?
Maybe you should’ve went to Starbucks country and signed with Seattle like you were considering.
