My clicker needs a battery!

April 21st 2009 14:39

First of all, can you imagine living a day like yesterday back in a year like 1978? You'd be having to run up and down from your couch adjusting your set of "rabbit ears" and manually turning the channel between two awesome games! Are you kidding me? Thank God for the clicker.. (yes Dad, I remember you making me your channel changer when you didn't want to get up)

Even though the Celts are struggling without Garnett, it was great to see him leading the troops on the bench last night. I have never seen the competitive fire and desire to win so apparent in someone outside of me back when I played Tee Ball back in '83. All kidding aside, for all his antics and yelling and screaming etc.., Garnett flat out just wants to win and beat you anyway he can and I think that team is so much better off with him on the bench instead of sitting in the locker room.

Ray Allen is so fun to watch when he gets rolling like that.. He was unstoppable and completely in the zone in the second half. Noah is seven feet tall and Allen just released that game winner in his face like he wasn't even there. Ben Gordon was unbelievable for Chicago...fun to watch.. Two UConn guys going at it.. I'm sure Calhoun was home on his couch texting all of his new recruits about it.. ha. Poor Calhoun! Think the NCAA rulebook needs a little bit of a refresher??

Bruins game was not nearly as entertaining as the Celtics game but still was a great win and a really good game. When you see a guy like Marc Savard ( a guy who's not known for his defensive ability) diving and poking pucks away and forechecking in the neutral zone like he did last night, you know this team is committed to playing the type of "D" that the forwards must play to give this team a chance to win it all. I thought Bruins in six, but maybe I was wrong. It just looks like they are the far superior team this year as far as the B's/ Canadiens go. I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat the Bruins in Game 4 but I really don't see this series going any more than 5 now. If it comes down to it, who do you sign, David Krejci or Phil Kessel?? Both are restricted free agents. I love Kessel and his goal scoring ability, but I say Krejci. What vision and talent overall this guy has.. The next Adam Oates.... but then again Oates had Cam Neely and Brett Hull as his scoring wings. Who would play that role for Krejci if Kessel was gone? Tough decison for them to make.

Being without Garnett will make them a better team in the long run. Having to play without him makes the rest have to be better on the court.

Agree that Garnett is better for the team on the bench than in the locker room.
