The Oklahoma freshman point guard is turning pro.

Ahhhh my parents' alma mater still turning out the veritable apogee of scholastic athletes.

Well at least it isn't Nebraska where he is leaving behind a potpourri of covered up rape charges.

I thought this was absolutely ridiculous when I heard it on the radio on the ride to work. That's the type of stuff that makes me want the NCAA to change their policy on entering the NBA draft after one year out of high school.

True dat Josh. If the intention is ONLY to play in the NBA, skip the farcical protocol of going to college. These guys should go straight from high school and see how mad their skills are. If these young men are self-aware enough to realize that their game will improve with college coaching against college level competition, then it is a University's responsibility to make sure they get at least a modicum of education and social awareness to avoid the same pitfalls as say, oh...

Kenny Anderson
Antoine Walker
Rumeal Robinson

If said player still winds up penniless and his "entourage" ain't round no mo then at least these colleges would have a clean conscience and more honor from my perspective by truly being able to say they gave him a full opportunity to better himself for the rest of his life. At least give them a better vocabulary and reading comprehension for cryin' out loud.

Yyyyyyeeeeeaaaahhh don't remind me. There's a reason why head coach Jeff Capel laughed when the media asked him if any of his freshmen were ready for the NBA.
