August 23rd
Gaylord Perry (Seattle Mariners) was tossed out of a game for throwing an illegal spitball. (1982)
Pete Rose, the manager of the Cincinnati Reds, agreed to a lifetime ban from baseball after being accused of gambling on baseball. (1989)
Happy Birthday to the following people. If any of you are dead now & I missed the news, I apologize. I'm trying to be nice here...
Happy 35th to former Pats guard, Joe Andruzzi. Who can ever forget him charging out of the tunnel when games resumed after 9/11, with the American flag in his hand. Great moment. (Andruzzi's brother was a firefighter who got called to the WTC that day)
Happy 32nd to, Kobe Bryant. Maybe this is the year he stops being a phony by putting on that BS show with his wife and kids at halftime of games, by kissing them all in the tunnel. Mr. Family Guy Kobe. Puke makes its way halfway up my puke pipe whenever I see it.
Chuck
