Prince Says...NO Rush On My Contract Extension...Take Your Time!

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- On the field, nothing will change with Prince Fielder. He'll play first base, bat fourth and is still considered the key of the Milwaukee Brewers' offense.
Off the field, Fielder says there's nothing to worry about right now, either. He wants to stay in Milwaukee as long as he can and there's no urgency in negotiating for a new contract.
"I came up here and I love it here, so I want to stay here as long as possible," Fielder said Sunday at the Brewers' annual offseason fan event. "I'm here for two more years anyway, so I'm just trying to see what happens then and all the other stuff hopefully will work out."
I feel like a little TCFB translation is needed here on this one: “I’ve put my time in here in baseball purgatory, aka Milwaukee. I want to move on into baseball heaven---aka Boston or New York---and go from Prince to King when my deal is up in two years. Most likely I’ll be going to the Yankees to get my swerve on. Can you imagine me with that short right field porch? A big, strong, fatty like me pulling balls into the right field seats with a simple flick of my beefy wrist! Don’t negotiate with me at all. I’ll say all the right things about your organization here in Milwaukee and the area itself. Great bratwurst and high quality cheese with a slight Favre obsession. I’ll even say how much I wanted things to work out so that I could stay. However, consider me as good as gone, when the time comes. Thank You &…[Ari Gold salute]… Good Day!”
