Random 'Two Cents' On Red Sox..Joshua Sacco..Celtics & More
April 5th 2010 15:00
*** OK, all of you people (mostly Yankee supporters) who keep bitching and moaning about this little shit, Joshua Sacco (pic above), reciting the whole Herb Brooks ‘beat the Soviets’ speech last night at Fenway, with some ‘beat the Yankees’ modifications, please give me a break. “I can’t believe how classless this organization is… & how bout this kids parents letting him say ‘screw ‘em’ while reciting the speech?! Now he’s gonna think it’s ok to say ‘screw em’ all the time.” Hey dummies, it’s called parenting. You tell the kid that it’s only ok because he’s reciting a famous speech & it’s not ok when he’s at family cookouts and wants to tell his aunt to ‘screw’ when he doesn’t want to eat his hot dog. Find something else to bitch about, people. It was a funny moment & I’m as old fashioned as they come when it comes to kids and bad language around adults. I hate it. But it’s a speech! It was hilarious! If the Yankees did it to the Red Sox, I’d think it was just as funny.
***You got a glimpse of the defensive skill sets on some of these new Red Sox last night. Marco Scutaro & Dustin Pedroia looked like they’ve been turning DP’s for years together in the middle of that infield and that play Beltre made look so easy for the last out of the game, wasn’t an easy play at all for a third baseman to make.
*** Text from my father this morning: “Watched til 9th…I STILL DON’T KNOW how Pedroia hits the damn ball with that HUGE swing.” Dad, we don’t question the little engine that could anymore. We just accept that he can in fact hit the ball with that huge swing! I’m not sure how he does it either.
*** As long as Mike Lowell is on this Red Sox team, I want him at DH against left handed pitching. Tito, time to put Big Papi Salsa’s ego aside and do what’s right for this team, and that’s having him sit against lefties.
*** Daniel Bard becomes an absolute stud setting up Jonathan Papelbon this year. Mark it down. The tag team of Hideki Okajima--Bard--Papelbon will be second best to nobody during this 2010 baseball season.
*** Loved the Pedro Martinez drama in the pre-game. Loved it. Pedro coming out the Monster---eating up the ovation from the fans---before making his way to the mound to toss out the first pitch. Jerry Remy echoed my thoughts when he said, “God I miss this guy. He was the best I ever saw in the prime of his career.” Couldn’t have said it any better myself, Mr. Restaurateur.
*** The Celtics continued their fine sportsmanship ways yesterday in their win against Lebron and his Cavs. Rasheed Wallace is a flat out punk, who has been an utter bust here in Boston. Rivers should bench his sorry ass after ‘Sheed showed him up when he yelled at him yesterday. Also, note to Tony Allen: When a guy puts up 42 points and is dominating you and your team in the 4th quarter, as they come back from a 20 point deficit, just keep your mouth shut and D-up your man. Nice win by the Celts. I’m just tired of their big mouth, punkish ways.
