Random “Two Cents” On…..NBA Finals Game Seven Armageddon In La-La Land

*** Any talk of the Lakers having any “momentum” heading into Game 7 is null & void. Momentum has been non-existent and it will continue to play out that way tonight. Clean slate.

*** KG needs to immediately head to aisle three at GNC and purchase the most potent of rocket fuel capsules so he can channel his inner freakishly athletic Timberwolf from 2003-04 when he was averaging 14 boards per game. Ok, I know you can’t crank the time machine back that far, but you need to rebound your ass off tonight, son. Please, stop swatting the basketball around on the defensive glass and secure some tough rebounds with both Hamburger Helper sized mitts tonight, KG. Your rebounding presence & outlet passing are sorely needed with Perk out of action.

*** I’d love to see the C’s get the ball to the aforementioned, KG, down on the block early tonight. Let’s attempt to get Llama Pao in early foul trouble so we can get his sweaty ass to the bench and help even out the length mismatch down low with Perkins out.

*** Regardless of ‘Sheed starting or not ( I say he draws the start) he’ll be getting big minutes in this ballgame. That said, his shooting ability from outside should bring Andrew Bynum or Pau (one of the two, depending on who Zen Master puts on him) out to defend and should make things a little easier for KG & Co. to grab a few extra offensive boards, something that was lacking beyond belief in Game 6.

*** Kobe Bryant has done a great job defending Rajon Rondo in this series. Impressive to say the least. No sarcasm there folks. That said, most of Rondo’s brilliance comes off of the transition game anyway. The Celtics must defend and force the Lakers into key misses early so they can outlet to Rondo and kick start the break. Why early??? See below…..

*** In all six games of this series, the team who wins the first quarter, wins the game.

*** In all six games of this series, the team who wins the battle of the boards, wins the game.

*** Celtics/Lakers Game 7 was summed up perfectly in Adrian Wojnarowski's article on Yahoo Sports. See excerpt below…..If that doesn’t pump you up for tonight, nothing will.

“Here comes a forever night in the NBA, a forever fight to the finish, a Celtics-Lakers death-grip still unsettled. All those years, all that history, and it comes flooding into the surround sound of Staples Center for Game 7. This pedestrian series can still turn into something unforgettable. As much as anything, these Celtics and Lakers are right where they’re supposed to be, right where these two franchise always were: Chasing a championship banner all the way to the end, all the way to the last breath of a basketball season.”

*** Oh, and one more thing…..Go Green!!! Bring it home, fellas.
