A police report revealed Thursday by the Associated Press indicates Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown had a blood alcohol level of .158 when given a breath test last weekend.
The limit to legally drive in Georgia is 0.08 and Brown also failed a field sobriety test.
Brown was pulled over at 4:29 A.M and arrested for DUI.
Personal little tale on this subject matter of BAC: Once, when we were about 21 or 22 & in the young adult sexual fantasy land I like to call Montreal, a few of us bellied up to the ole ‘blow through this straw into the little hole in the machine’--- alcohol level tester thingie (in pic at top of post). Yes, this machine is on the wall as you’re leaving Chez Paree, one of Montreal’s finest strip clubs. The fact that we even stopped to humor this stupid little piece of shit machine before we hit the next club on the list should tell you right away how intoxicated we might’ve been. Oh, and I think we missed the Bruins game, but they probably lost anyway.
Let me just say, that it took us about 5 minutes to get the coordination down that it took to get the little straw into our mouths and then proceed to push it into the little hole in the machine….then blow. Not that easy, folks. This was priceless comedy. When we did, we blew between .16 & .18. We proceeded to flip the straws into the barrel (probably actually missed the barrel) and stumble out to our next destination, and I do mean stumble.
But the key there, Ronnie, is that we weren’t driving, we were stumbling up the street on foot, laughing and falling off the curb. I’m not throwing stones, hey I’ve certainly made my mistakes, I’m just trying to equate.
So, yeah, attempting to drive with the BAC around those levels, wouldn’t be the easiest thing to accomplish. Let’s just say, if you are a 180 pound guy and you have 8 light beers in one hour, your BAC is about .14, if you want a little more perspective.
