I’ve always loved it when I read something that an athlete says in an interview and then we so clearly get to see how said athlete applies what he says to his daily life. It’s special stuff when it seems to all come together. It’s sort of like a perfect storm of sorts.
Chargers linebacker, Shawne Merriman said in a Sporting News Today interview …

I’d say Shawne is doing a fabulous job of implementing that philosophy…On top of that, I mean, you thought chivalry was dead? Clearly it isn’t.. Check out the girl who Shawne dumps champagne all over in the picture above. She is clearly very turned on by Shawne’s classy act. I mean, she can barely contain her excitement. Shawn calmly takes a sip of his champagne and says, “You like that baby? You know you do. Now dry yourself off and get out front to my limo. I’ll be right out. I have bottles and bottles of this shit in there. Ima dump it all over you all night long. Damn.. I love surrounding myself with people who possess such unique personalities and strong character. Your friends are so strong and unique too, baby. I love how they all laughed as I poured my bubbly all over your head and degraded you in public. Get them outside to the limo too, Shawtie. We gonna do the ‘Lights Out’ dance tonight!”

Why champagne at a book club meeting? A celebration of the this bibliophilic enclave having completed their roundtable discussion on the trancendent nature of Nikolai in Tolstoy's War and Peace. Ahhhh I love a happy ending.
