OK, I’m ready to admit that I may have overreacted when the Bruins traded Phil ‘The Thrill’ Kessel (the B’s only sniper at the time & they still don't have one) to Toronto for two #1 picks & a second rounder. Sometimes I have to take the longer view on things and realize you have to take a step back in order to take two steps forward at times. Nick Lachey married J-Simps, dealt with her challenged brain, then did an awful reality show with her on MTV and set himself up for an upgrade with Vanessa Manillo. Step back, two steps forward people (are they still together? Either way, V-Manillo = upgrade).
No, I don’t think anybody expected Toronto to falter to the degree that they did this season---but the fact of the matter is---the Bruins are getting the #2 pick in the draft and will add a franchise player & top notch offensive threat to their hockey club due to this Kessel trade. Now, go ahead and tank again next year, Leafs. I’m salivating over a Top 5 pick in 2011 to add to our #2 pick in 2010. The future is bright on Causeway Street, my friends. Very bright. They could go out and blow this series against Buffalo and I wouldn’t care. I’d feel the same way.
