Sheets' Daddy's
*** No real Daddy's for Sheets yet. Not enough experience against this Boston lineup.
Dice-K's Minor Athletic Pains In Ass... But No Worries
Kurt Suzuki--- .500 avg/ 1 HR (8 AB)
Gabe Gross--- .444 avg (9 AB)
Daddy TCFB's Words of Wisdom: As I put it earlier, I can't help but think this 10 game/10 nights West Coast trip is doubling as a funeral for this 2010 bunch. The hole keeps getting deeper and these offensive injuries are catching up with them. You can get by on heart for a while and McDonald, "Rudy" Nava and others have been awesome for this team in its time of need. It just seems to be catching up to them now. I hope I'm wrong but it's just a feeling I'm getting. They have done a lot more then anyone expected with all of these crippling injuries.

Jumping down to the Sox: I agree water reaches its own level and these Triple-A-sters have been overperforming for awhile, and definitely check me off as not owning any thorny-flowered hued glasses, but you know what?
I not only think the glass is half-full, I'll say the glass is also Waterford Crystal.
The biggest cogs in this machine have cracked, broken, and been taken out of the lineup due to excessive rust. But, they're all coming back. And they are rested.
R-E-S-T-E-D.
That's pretty dang important when the AL East commands the best record in the MLB.
Without his HGH (cheapshot, but I can't help it), a 40-plus Pettitte is out for 4 weeks minimum. Plus rehab, I'd say 5 to 6. Burnett looks like he's been pitching with two bloody hands before he accidently self-sliced himself in anger after his last outing. Posada is always held together with hockey tape these days...
I guess the point is this: most teams lose players to injury and we did it early. You can't depend on it, but I'm saying the law of averages catches up with the everyone else when they least need it: now. And, you know who looks fresh at this point.
But we have to make it to that point, I grant you -- we may be only team with Hawkeye Pierce is arguing with Hotlips Houlihan doing triage in the dugout, but with All-Star players re-entering the lineup, while other teams start to feel the wear of the season, I'm looking forward to this second half.
We're in reach of Wild Card (and, I'd say, the AL East title) and we're playing with one hand behind our back, but not for much longer.
Or, as I like to think of it, it's like the great duel scene in the Princess Bride (Indigo=MLB teams, Man in Black=Red Sox):
-----
Inigo Montoya: I admit it, you are better than I am.
Man in Black: Then why are you smiling?
Inigo Montoya: Because I know something you don't know.
Man in Black: And what is that?
Inigo Montoya: I... am not left-handed.
[Moves his sword to his right hand and gains an advantage]
Man in Black: You are amazing.
Inigo Montoya: I ought to be, after 20 years.
Man in Black: Oh, there's something I ought to tell you.
Inigo Montoya: Tell me.
Man in Black: I'm not left-handed either. [Moves his sword to his right hand and regains his advantage]

Don't agree? As you wish.
