TCFB's Turning Back The Clock In Sports History---November 26
November 26th 2009 15:24
I would like to wish everyone, all of the loyal readers and viewers of the show, the very Happiest Thanksgiving to you and your families! Thank you to all of you for your support since I started this site back in April. Have a great day!
The National Hockey League (NHL) was founded. Teams included the Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Wanderers, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Arenas, and Quebec Bulldogs. Frank Calder was elected as the first NHL president. He served from 1917 to 1943. (1917)
Howard Cossell called his last boxing match. (1982)
Barry Sanders (Detroit Lions) became only the second running back in NFL history to run for more than 15,000 career yards. (1998)
Hulk Hogan announced that he was retiring from pro wrestling and would run for president in 2000. (1998)
Happy Birthday to the following people. If any of you are dead now and I missed, sorry....I'm trying to be nice here...
John Harvard--- Happy 402nd B-Day. The founder of Harvard University.. I grew up 5 minutes from Harvard so I wanted to mention this one. I'm pretty sure he's dead now though!
Shawn Kemp---Happy 40th to the former NBA/Seattle Supersonic star. Hope you and all the kids and their baby momma's are doing well.
'Lil Fizz---Happy 24th to this 'non-sports' entry for today. Have no idea who you are other than you are a rapper I believe.. but I love the name my man.
Chuck
